Makayla is here!

She is finally here! Makayla was born Friday May 22, at 7:27a.m. We got to come home Monday and have been doing great. She is gaining weight fast and sleeping for 5 hours at night! She is so sweet. We are so blessed to have an easy baby so far. Here is a picture. I will try to add more later.

Growing Fast!!

Here are a couple of pictures and the video from the last sonogram. Jan, the sonogram lady said that she has long legs and she already weighed 4 pounds 3 ounces. Uh oh! sounds like a formula for a big baby. She also said that the baby was measuring like she would be due May 21 instead of the 29th, but they weren't going to change the due date.

John and I have been working on the nursery. He painted and we assembled the changing table last week. Tonight we are going to set up the crib! Yeah! After that we just need to refinish the dresser and put up her artwork. I will post some pictures when we get it up and going. Our next visit is April 7th. We will just listen to the heartbeat and measure the belly. Monday we will be 33 weeks! Only 7 more at the most.

Baby's Room

We have been working hard on cleaning out the baby's room. We have made a lot of progress, we are still trying to figure out where we are going to put all the stuff that came out of there. We may just have to have a garage sale.

We have the bedding and the crib we like picked out. I have posted a design plan to give you a peak at the baby's space. I can't wait to post a picture of the final product.

Oh and her name is not Madilyn, that picture is just a sample of the decorative letters we are going to use above her crib.

22 Week Check-up

I went to the doctor today and everything is still looking good. My blood pressure is good and she measured my tummy and says that it is growing well too! She listened to the baby's heartbeat and we are good!

Next time, we do another sonogram, the glucose test and more blood work to check my iron levels. That will be 25 weeks. So movin' right along. Her kicks are getting stronger and more frequent. She wiggles a lot more during the day, but John still hasn't felt her yet. I am sure he will be able to soon though.

We bought her a Shel Silverstein book "Light in the Attic" to read to her at bedtime, and will get some of our children's books from our moms to read to her as well. "Light in the Attic" was one of John's favorites as a child and mine was "The Gingerbread Man."

Here is a picture of the Belly, as requested.

Love everyone,

Lauren
